The latest incarnation of the E63 AMG now uses a 5.5 V8 with 2 turbos, giving better efficiency than the old 6.2 V8 and also improved power and torque.
If Performance Pack is specced (as it is with our car), the engine produces 549bhp and 590lb/ft.
This means instant acceleration, at any speed in any gear, all backed up with the AMG signature of a muscle car soundtrack.
