About the Car
The uber rare E34 M5 Touring was the world’s fastest estate car, when it was introduced in 1992. It was BMW M Division’s first wagon, but at the same time the last hand-built M car.
Its 3.8 litre straight six was also the largest displacement six-cylinder engine of BMW’s modern era. While none of these wagons were imported to the UK, a few have made their way across the channel since 1995 and have become a cult car among BMW Touring enthusiasts.
Capable of 0 to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds and available only with a manual transmission this M5 Touring qualifies as probably one of the rarest M5 around, as since only 891 car were made, all in LHD.
The E34 M5 Touring were all hand built, between March 1992 and August 1995. The model was BMW's Motorsport version of the E34 5 series cars, but with a motorsport tuned chassis and a limited speed of 155mph. The engine is a S38 twin cam, 3.8 litre, 24 valve in-line six cylinder, producing 340 bhp, which is mated to a Getrag 280/5 5 speed manual gearbox and Limited Slip Differential.
This M5 Touring is a 1995 car, so one of the very last built.
Originally supplied to the German market, it was imported into the UK in 1998.
The colour combination is stunning, Daytona Violet paintwork over an interior of black leather.
There are a number of important options on this car which make it stand out from the others, the most important being that is a rare 6 speed manual (just 211 made in this guise).
Very rare third brake light
Heated front & rear seats
Solid trunk covering
18" M Parallel wheels
M5 Techniq aerodynamic mirrors
We will have a full service history breakdown and a more detailed advertisement once the car arrives, along with our usual professional photography.
