Amari Supercars are delighted to present this Lamborghini Diablo SV, the rear-wheel drive purist’s choice of the Diablo range, in its original pop-up headlight form.
What sets this car apart is where it has been. It comes from a private collection of 52 cars, whose owner employed a dedicated full-time mechanic and ran his own on-site service centre, and it was looked after there using only genuine Lamborghini parts. An extensive history file backs this up, complete with supporting paperwork and a covering letter.
Unveiled at the 1995 Geneva Motor Show, the SV revived the name made famous by the Miura SV. Where the VT sent its power to all four wheels, the SV drives the rears alone, and its naturally aspirated V12 produces 503 bhp and 428 lb ft. With an adjustable rear wing and no ABS to step in, it asks a great deal of its driver, and rewards them for it. The pop-up headlights went in the 1998 facelift, so cars like this are the ones that keep the original Diablo shape.
Every flagship V12 Lamborghini since the Diablo has driven all four wheels, so a rear-wheel drive car with pop-up headlights and a gated manual gearbox now belongs to another era.
