Overview

If you ask someone to name a Classic Lamborghini, depending on the age of the person, they would say either Countach or Miura.

The more discerning Lamborghini fan would almost certainly say the Urraco! This uber classic Lamborghini was designed by the highly regarded Gambini at Bertone and built for the masses, so as to compete with the other Italian offerings of Ferrari Dino & the Maserati Merak.

This is probably the most well known example of a Urraco anywhere in the world!! As seen on the TV show "Wheeler Dealers", this car has had a full restoration and completed the drive to Bologna for the 50th Anniversary event.
It is so well known that it is used by Wikipedia on the Urraco page.

After being tipped off about the car in rural Poland, Mike and the camera crew went to investigate and (the term barn-find seems to be applied to any car that has a bit of dust on it) miraculously came across a Barn Find in the organic sense of the word.
The car had been stored untouched in a cool, dry garage for 7 years during which time the brakes had seized solid (so much so the wheels wouldnt turn at all), the clutch had seized and the timing chain had perished so much that turning the engine over was impossible.
But and most importantly, due to the conditions the car had been stored in, the original Verde metallic paint and body had stayed corrosion free. The very 70s Champagne interior was also in fantastic condition.

Safely removed from its home and being placed inside a shuttle trailer, the car then began its journey back to the UK where Edd and Mike carried out a complete restoration to bring the car back to its best.

The engine and gearbox were removed and overhauled, replacing lots of wear and tear items, along with fitting a new hydraulic clutch pipe, a slave cylinder spring, a new clutch kit, new cam belts and bearings, air filters, coils, points, leads and distributor caps, oil and oil filter. The car was also converted to run using Evans Waterless Coolant.
Since the idea behind this project was to drive the car to Italy, they had the timing and twin Weber carburetors set up properly by none other than Chris Evans expert mechanic Tim Magic Savage.
The engines sub frame and original were stripped and repainted, then brand new front brake calipers fitted along with new Michelin tyres all round to ensure reliable and safe stopping and handling for the long trip.

This 1972 Urraco S has had just 1 previous keeper in the UK and has covered 98,043 km.

It drives beautifully and will make an excellent addition to any classic car collection.

The paint is all original and as such has some small marks and dents that have been acquired through its life.

There is an interesting history file with the car which includes the original Italian registration booklet and a receipt for the Polish owner.

The current MOT expires on 16th April 2015 and the road tax expires on 30th April 2015.
